Chester Bennington’s Son Is Upset After Linkin Park Replaces Dad With New Singer

We can’t all be happy with the decisions that are made by others in life. This is sometimes seen by celebrities or their family members who are unhappy after a serious decision is made.

One individual who has struggled with a decision is Chester Bennington’s son Jamie. After his father’s death, Linkin Park decided to replace him with a new singer as a co-vocalist and he is criticizing the choice.

It happened on September 5, when Emily Armstrong was announced as the new vocalist for Linkin Park. They also announced a new drummer as well.

Interestingly, they also released a new single at the same time, The Emptiness Machine. This is the first time new music was released by the group in seven years.

That track is the lead symbol for the upcoming album from Linkin Park, From Zero. It is to be released in just a few days and will be the first full project they produced since 2017.

Some fans were very happy with Armstrong joining the band and they loved her vocal abilities. Others, however, felt that she would never be able to fill Bennington’s shoes.

Chester Bennington was found dead at his home in July 2017. The death was ruled a suicide.

Jamie, Bennington’s son is now criticizing the decision of the band openly on Instagram. In one of the Instagram stories, he wrote that the founder of the band had ‘quietly erased my father’s life and legacy in real time…during international suicide prevention month.’

He also criticized Armstrong for being a member of the Church of Scientology and supporting Danny Masterson from that 70s show.

In an additional Instagram story, Jamie said that Linkin Park ‘failed to address the concerns of their diverse fan base’ and that the group’s recent actions ‘are not something people should acclimate to.’

He went on to say that the man had betrayed the trust of the fan base, as they trusted Armstrong to be a better person. He said that he had promised it was the intention but now you’re just ‘senile and tone deaf.’

Armstrong has also issued a statement after concerns of her friendship with Masterson appeared. She wrote on Instagram: “Several years ago, I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer. Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have. I always try to see the good in people, and I misjudged him. I have never spoken with him since.

“To say it as clearly as possible: I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes.”
