As parents, we try to do what we can to teach our children right from wrong. We may also teach them to do other things and sometimes, we may teach them something that they don’t learn in school.

One mother had taught her daughter how to do something that they don’t teach very often in school any longer. She taught her how to write in cursive, so her daughter would sign her name in cursive on her homework.

Her daughter, Alyssa, was proud of the fact that she could write this way but there was someone who was not happy with what she was doing. It was her teacher, and the seven-year-old brought a paper home one day with writing in red that said: ‘Stop writing your name in cursive. You have had several warnings.’

After the mother saw what the teacher had written on her daughter’s homework, she had a friend, Brenda Hatcher, share it on Facebook. It went viral quickly.

Her friend wrote: ‘Not only is her mother a military veteran but, she took the time to teach her very young child how to write in cursive.’

After the post reached a wide audience, there were many people who commented. Most felt that the teacher was wrong for giving the child a hard time but others said that the child should be following directions.

Although there isn’t any specific information on where the school is or who the teacher was, Brenda did say that the mother of the child was Gail Varney. She also said that she had emailed the teacher and CCed the principal but did not get a response.
