When you are a celebrity, you would expect that, on occasion, you would get mobbed by a group of people. Those fans are the people who love you the most, but it wasn’t quite the experience that Ian Ziering had.
The former star of Beverly Hills 90210 was enjoying his New Year’s Eve but the celebration came to an abrupt end when he was attacked. He spoke about it on Instagram in a statement that showed how difficult the time was. It happened when he was driving down Hollywood Boulevard with his daughter with him in the car.
Suddenly, they “experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation.”
He thought that one of the minibikes had hit his car and damaged it so he got out to look. Suddenly, the situation turned into a physical issue, and he had to protect himself.
Footage was available of the incident in which you can see him standing outside of the car on Hollywood Boulevard. A swarm of mini bikers attacked him and chased him across the street, trying to keep him from getting away.
At the same time, the video also shows him trying to calm down his 10-year-old daughter who was in the car. Fortunately, he reported that: “I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed.”
He also spoke about how he felt “deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace. This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior.”
He went on to say: “I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences.”
Police officers also confirmed that they were called to the scene after a fight broke out among a group of bikers.
