We live in a time when commedy is popular but it seems that nobody can take a joke. Between cancel culture and the sensitivities of those people, it’s a wonder we can enjoy life at all.
One thing that people have enjoyed through the first five parts of the series is the comedy franchise, Scary Movie. They got it started in 2000 and have made fun of many different popular movies, from The Ring to War of the Worlds.
The franchise has been extremely popular over the years, allowing some famous actresses, including Regina Hall and Anna Faris to get their feet in the door. Of course, the critics were not always favorable but many fans would watch every movie multiple times.
In 2013, Scary Movie 5 reportedly tripled its budget when at the theaters. The series was put on hold after it was complete but now 11 years have gone by and we are ready for a new release.
According to a number of reputable sources, Paramount is about to start a new Scary Movie and it was even announced at CinemaCon. It is sent to go into production in the fall of this year and be in cinemas in 2025.
Although many people are excited about the release of the new series, there are others who feel that it won’t be as funny. Because of changes in the way people feel and in sensitivities, they might not be able to enjoy it.
Many people commented on the upcoming project, saying that there is no way they can make humor in the same way and make it for a wide audience. They are afraid it is just no going to be the same.
I guess we will have to wait and see but maybe it will do well.
