Getting married is a very serious decision and it is one that we do for life. The unfortunate reality for many, however, is that marriage does not last as long as they hoped.
This is especially something that happens in celebrity marriages. They may last for a while, but all too often, the pressures of being in the public eye cause them to come to an end.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher are a couple that have been together for 13 years of marriage but now, they are filing for divorce. It seems as if Cohen, who is 52 years old, was accused of fooling around with rebel Wilson onset and the split was announced.
The announcement came on the Instagram accounts of both Cohen and Fisher on April 5. According to the announcements, the divorce had already been filed last year.
The announcements were the same, saying: “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage.
“We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change,” the Hollywood stars added. “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
The couple got married in 2010 and they have three children together. They met in Sydney, Australia in 2001 and eventually became famous for their movies, including Wedding Crashers and Borat.
Wilson called him out last month, saying that the star he worked with was to blame.
She said: “When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, ‘I have a no a**hole policy, [it] means like, yeah, I don’t work with a**holes.’ I was like, ‘Oh yeah. I mean, that sounds sensible or logical.
“But then it really sunk in [what they, the older people in the industry, meant] because I worked with a massive a**hole and yeah, now I definitely have a no a**holes policy.
“I wrote about an a**hole in my book. Now, said a**hole is trying to threaten me. He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He is trying to stop press coming out about my book. But the book WILL come out, and you will all know the truth.”
