It is good to rest and get a little relaxation every once in a while. Just getting away from it all for a few hours can help reset your busy mind and get you back on track again.

Something else that we can do to help keep our minds sharp during difficult times is to solve puzzles. I’m not talking about stressful puzzles that are practically impossible to do, I’m talking about simple puzzles that keep the mind sharp and allow us to get away from it all without going anywhere.

We have a great example of that in the following picture. Three women were at the park enjoying a little rest and relaxation, but there is something wrong with the picture and almost nobody can see it.

Take a few moments to study the picture in detail. There is something wrong with it, and even if you can’t find it, this is not a trick.

As you study the picture, your brain will be activated and, since this is not a difficult puzzle or a complex mathematical problem, is not going to take a lot of brainpower to solve.

The real key is just to look at the picture and try to discover what is wrong. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out, but it does take a keen eye and an ability to look beyond the obvious.

Puzzles have been a way for people to pass the time for many years. It doesn’t matter if it is a crossword puzzle, a word find, or even sudoku, they are enjoyable and even a little addictive.

There are even specific types of puzzles that have been shown to help the brain and it may help to delay the onset of Alzheimer’s, according to some experts. Of course, you don’t have to want to be exercising your brain to enjoy puzzles, they are fun to do just on their own!
