Mariah Carey Impersonator Married Herself And Now She Wants A Divorce

Ask any married person and they will tell you that it can be difficult to be married. Often, we have difficulty finding someone who is like us enough to tie the knot but even if we find the perfect person, troubles can still happen.

One person who has made it obvious just how difficult marriage can be is an influencer who regularly impersonates Mariah Carey. Suellen Carey is an interesting individual but last year, she did something that captured the attention of many. She got married, but it was her choice of marriage partner that surprised many.

Suellen has only been married for one year and she is ready to call it quits. It was an unusual marriage, because she married herself.

She spoke about the relationship, saying: “It’s crucial to know when to end a cycle, backspace one. Even commitment to oneself can have its challenges, such as dealing with the expectation of being perfect for yourself all the time.”

She also said “I was putting a lot of pressure on myself and that sometimes left me exhausted. I understood that even in a marriage with ourselves, it’s important to accept our imperfections.”

The influencer, who currently lives in London, said that she had gone to couples therapy to try to work things out. It was for her solo marriage, something known as sologamy.

The decision to end the marriage and look for divorce occurred after 10 sessions of therapy. She felt lonely in the relationship.

She said: “I realized that my sologamous marriage was a process of healing and self-discovery,” she continued. “But I also understood that personal growth can lead us in different directions.”

As an influencer with approximately 430,000 followers on Instagram, her nuptials were announced to a large audience. That happened on September 21, 2023. She was posing in a white wedding dress and it was one of the happiest days of her lifetime.

“Today I value and love myself, I married myself here in London,” Carey said. “This celebration is important because I learned to prioritize my well-being and mental health. In my vows, I wrote and declared my commitment to caring for and valuing my self-love”
