Actress Nicole Kidman recently went through a challenge when her mother passed away. After it happened, she ended up posting pictures that you don’t often see.
The loss of a parent can be a devastating thing. It doesn’t matter if it happens unexpectedly or if we know that it is coming for quite some time, it can impact us in various ways. This happened to Nicole Kidman, when her mother, Janelle died at age of 84.
The Australian recently arrived in Venice to go to the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Not long after arriving to the event, she learned that her mother had passed away.
During the event, Nicole won an award for the best actress but she had to leave early, so the director of the film, Halina Reijn, accepted the award for her.
Nicole later wrote: “I’m in shock, and I have to go to my family. But this award is for her. She shaped me, she guided me, and she made me. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking.”
Later, she posted again on Instagram on behalf the family and thanked everyone for the kindness they were shown. She had uploaded a slideshow of family photos.
“Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express. Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy as we take care of each other.”
Her father had previously passed away in 2014 at the age of 75.
Naomi Watts shared the following message on the Instagram post: “Sending so much love to you both. So sorry for your loss. Your wonderfully spirited mum will be missed by so many. Hopefully, she is now peacefully reunited with your papa xxx love you.”
Glenn Close added the following: “Dear Nicole, Your universe has shifted. Please give yourself enough time to adjust. My deep sympathies for your profound loss. She lives on in you and your family.”
