Life has a way of throwing unexpected obstacles in our path. Some of these can be quite serious, including the death of someone we love.
Recently, someone who experienced this difficulty and knew it very well shared a picture of her and her husband together along with their children. It was Meredith Gaudreau, and she shared a touching slideshow.
Unfortunately, Meredith lost her NHL star husband in a suspected drunk driving incident when he was only 31. She went on Instagram to express her love for Johnny, saying that he was perfect and made life feel too good to be true.
She went on to write: “Thank you for the best years of my life. Despite losing you, I am still the luckiest girl in the world to have been yours. I love you so so much.”
The slideshow pictures showed just how much the two of them loved each other. They seem to share a very carefree and playful bond, as you can see with the pictures of them hugging and enjoying time with the children.
It always seemed as if the two of them were happy and smiling as they laughed together. They had been married since 2021 and had two children, a daughter and a son.
Meredith said that Johnny was a loving father and described him as “The absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with. John never missed a single appointment.”
She also said that he had a knack for putting their baby to sleep and that her daughter was the spitting image of him. In the end, she promised that she would make her late husband proud and said that she had much love for him.
Another member of the family that she discussed was his brother, Matty. Unfortunately, both of them died together in that suspected drunk driving incident.
As Meredith paid tribute to them, saying they were inseparable and always side-by-side, she had something special to say. His little brother was always there for him and looked up to Johnny. They were the best friends and a support to each other.
It’s always sad when a loss occurs such as this. We hope that she is able to find some peace and rest during such a difficult time.
