Beloved Actor Passes Away At 79

It is always sad news when we hear about the death of anyone, especially those who have touched our lives in many different ways. Unfortunately, we have a loss to report as an actor has passed away.

Whitney Rydbeck, who was known for the part he played in Friday the 13th, and M*A*S*H, has died at the age of 79. He died due to complications from prostate cancer while he was in hospice care.

Tommy McLoughlin, the director of the Friday the 13th film confirmed his death on Instagram. He also paid tribute to Rydbeck on that social media platform.

He remembers him as a good comedian, actor, and kind human being. He said: “God Bless You and Rest in Peace..Whitney Rydbeck. Our Loss is Heavens’ Gain.”

Rydbeck was born in Los Angeles and attended Pasadena High School. He eventually studied theater and started his acting career in 1970, appearing on The Brady Bunch, and M*A*S*H. He was also known for some films, including Rocky II, 1941, and Love at First Bite.

Most people would remember him from Friday the 13th, as he played Roy, a paintball soldier. It was a memorable performance, to say the least. He tries to kill Jason in the movie but became one of his victims.

Another thing that he is known for is being a Crash Test Dummy named Larry in the seatbelt safety public service announcements in the 80s. It was to teach people the consequences of not wearing a seatbelt.

Rydbeck said he was successful in the commercial because he was a mime.

In the 80s and 90s, he appeared on a number of other shows, including Star Trek, Murder She Wrote, Seventh Heaven, and Party of Five.

We hope the family are able to find peace during this difficult time.
