There are two types of people in this world, those who enjoy math and those who don’t enjoy it. In fact, some people hate math so much that they would rather take a beating than a math quiz.
Even though math may not be your favorite subject, however, there are still some benefits to trying to figure out a good math problem. We have the perfect one for you here, because it isn’t about numbers, it’s about logic.
This picture is relatively easy to understand. The three objects, when added together, would equal the number on the right. Each object will be assigned a particular number so that it makes sense.
Take a little bit of time to figure this one out for yourself. If you are able to do it correctly, then you have some real bragging rights.
We are going to share the picture with you in a moment, so make sure that you have the answer firmly in mind before looking any further. Otherwise, you would never be able to be honest about taking the test.
Are you ready for the answer? Here it comes.
In the first line, each pair of boots equals 10.
10+10+10 = 30.
In the Second Line, each box equals five. The pair of boots is 10 and then you have two boxes.
5+5+10 = 20
In the third line, it gets a little tricky. Look closely and you will see that the box is holding two bottles of milk. If each bottle of milk equals two, and the box is equal to five, then you end up with this equation.
4+4+9 = 17.
Now we have the final part of the equation. This is where many people get stumbled. If a pair of boots is equal to 10 then a single boot is equal to 5. The box, which is equal to five is holding three bottles of milk, which would be equal to six, for a total of 11. A single bottle of milk is equal to 2.
The equation is: 5+11×2 = 27
remember that you have to multiply before you add. How did you do?
